RE: "grid zippers" Hmm. I did not have none of it. The zipper teeth are malleable but the thingy dwarf who made the zipper is metal. I just had the fear anyway for a week but did not see any scratches. I take for granted that could put a corner minor stick on the preferential treatment of the zipper, but I'll just stay and see. If it became a nest of hornets, I'll update here.
